Monday 26th September 2011 to be exact, was the start of my 3rd year in BA Garden Design. We began with general introductions to the year and then jumped straight into a very useful and eye opening exercise. The task – Look around and evaluate a site, making notes and sketches in our sketchbooks. After this we went into the studio and had to draw the area to scale from memory. Sounds simple enough – wrong, it was amazing to realise how much I thought I’d looked, to what I'd really taken in. After this we were then told to do four sketch designs that would illustrate our chosen concepts (mine being fluidity) in 60 minutes, which I enjoyed as it forced me not to think so deeply into every small detail. However I could only manage two and a rough plan so here they are.
